ALMATY. APRIL 29. PRESS CENTER - On April 29, the International Dance Day, on the stage of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University «Ak Shatyr» the department «Choreography and Art Management» gave its final concert.
International Dance Day is celebrated annually on April 29.
In 1982, UNESCO has established this day, April 29, in honor of the birthday of the French choreographer, dance art reformer, and theorist Jean-Georges Noverre. The name Jean-Jacques Nover went down in history as «the father of modern ballet».
Kazakh folk dance is also the heritage of the country, which has been formed since ancient times, rich in folklore, songs, and traditional life of our people.
The dance, which began with the first professional dancer of the Kazakh people Zhiyenkulova, today has become a spiritual treasure for several generations.
Among these generations are our graduates of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University.
The history of the Department of Choreography and Art Management at our Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts dates back to 1987. In 1992 a separate Department of Choreography was established. Famous graduates of the specialty «Choreography» Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR Raushan Baiseitova, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR Sayragul Nursultanova, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR Maira Kadyrova, Honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuralai Sarkytbayeva, Honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aliya Tanyshtykulova, Honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saule Rakhmetova and others received higher education in our university.
Now our graduates work in cities of Kazakhstan, Russia, Holland, Canada, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, the USA, and other countries.
The department is still working ensemble «Tomiris», founded on January 5, 2000. With each stage the line-up is renewed, the creative repertoire grows, and they return from many contests and festivals with prize-winning places.
During the gala evening passed the graduates of the department expressed their best wishes to the younger generation.
