      ALMATY. Decemder 29. Press center – What has been done at the University this year? What have we achieved? What has changed? What will be the direction for next year? What should be given priority? Today, to discuss these issues in detail, members of the Board met with directors of institutes and leaders of educational programs.

      The meeting was opened by the Chair of the Managing Board - Rector Gulmira Qanay, who summed up the work done at the university in 2021.

      - In May of this year, 10 educational programs have successfully passed the re-accreditation of ACQUIN (Germany). Also, in the International QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe & Central Asia 2022, the university entered the TOP-400 best universities category. In the 2021-2022 academic year, the university accepted 3,802 students at the college, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. The number of applicants to pedagogical specialties is several times higher than in previous years, - said Gulmira Qanay.

      The rector of the university also spoke about the structural changes undertaken since the beginning of the new academic year. She also touched upon the growth of teachers' salaries.

      - Since this academic year, the salaries of university teachers have increased by 30%. Including, since October 2021, the salary of the head of the department increased from 264 thousand tenge to 410 thousand tenge, a professor from 236 521 tenge to 400 thousand tenge, the salary of an associate professor from 188 515 tenge to 260 thousand tenge, the salary of a senior teacher from 184 thousand tenge to 230 thousand tenge, teacher's salary from 169 thousand tenge to 200 thousand tenge. And in the coming years, wages will gradually increase, - said Gulmira Qanay.

      At the meeting, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board - Rector Nurgali Arshabekov, Vice-Rector in Academic Affairs Yerkin Zhumankulova, Vice-Rector for Research and International Collaborations Zakir Jumakulov, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Social Work Zhanar Rysbekova and Vice-Rector for Infrastructure Development Zhaksylyk Abdrashev reviewed the work done in their areas and presented their plans for the future.

      The meeting was also attended by the directors of the institutes, who presented the results achieved in the current academic year. They talked about their further goals and thanked the university leadership for their support.

      Summing up the results of the meeting, the Chair of the Managing Board - Rector Gulmira Qanay wished the team good luck in the effective implementation of the work planned for the next year.
