• About the Department

  The department was formed in April 1992 and was called Computer science and Computer Engineering. The first head of the department was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Baymakhan Rysbek (1992-1998). In connection with the expansion of the department in 1996-2000, the department received a new name Mathematics and Computer science, and in 2000-2007 - Computer science. In 2007, according to the order on making changes to the structure of the university (No. 109, 24.08.2007), the name of the Department was renamed to the Department of Informatics and Applied Mathematics. In 1998-2001, the department was headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Eskaliev Murat, in 2001-2002 Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Boribayev Bakhyt, in 2002-2005 Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Kenesbaev Serik, in 2005-2020 Ph.D., professor Salgaraeva Gulnaz, from 2019 to 2020, the program leader of the department was M.P.N., senior lecturer Ilyasova Gulaim Bolatbekovna. From 2020 to 2022, the program leader of the department was the executive duties of Associate Professor, Candidate of Sciences Bostanov Bektas Ganievich. From 2023 to the present, the program leader of the department is the candidate of pedagogical Sciences, senior lecturer Ongarbayeva Aliya Duisengalievna.

  • Awards and achievements

  According to the results of the rating of the University in 2011-2016, the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics took 1st place and was awarded the title of "BEST DEPARTMENT".

  Today, the department is staffed by winners of the republican competition "The best teacher of the university", such as R.B.Baimakhan, S.A.Issayev, G.I.Salgarayeva, A.E.Sagymbaeva, N.Kurmanbekkyzy.

  According to the results of the rating research conducted by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating among higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the specialty 5B011100 – «Computer science» in 2015 took the 2nd place, and in 2016-2018 the 1st place, the specialty 6B01506-«Computer science»in 2019 also took the honorable 1st place.

  Professor of the department S.A. Issayev is the owner of the medal "For Labor Distinction" of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor R.B.Baimakhan is the owner of the badge "For Contribution to Science" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor M.E. Eskaliev and G.I.Salgarayeva were awarded the badge "Honorary Worker in Education" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, S.A. Issayev and G.I.Salgarayeva are holders of the gold badge "Ulagat" of the University. In 2019, G.I.Salgarayeva was awarded a badge for her great contribution to the development of the country's higher education system and fruitful work in administrative management, and she was awarded the title of "Best Manager" in the field of higher and postgraduate education.In October 2020, senior teachers Mametzhanova N.H., Rsalina L. A. and Masimgazieva A. A. were awarded a letter of thanks for their great contribution to the development of the university and significant achievements in the training of specialists. PhD, Professor Kenesbaev S. M. and PhD, Associate Professor Isaev S. A., senior teachers Bekezhanova A. A. and Suranchieva Z. T. were awarded a letter of thanks dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the university. Senior teachers Masimgazieva A. A. and Suranchieva Z. T. won the Bolashak scholarship.

  • The mission of the Department

  The mission of the Department of Computer science and Applied Mathematics is the preparation of highly qualified teachers and teachers in the specialty "Informatics", as well as masters and doctoral students of education, masters of natural science in the direction of "Informatics", a way of applying modern scientific achievements in the field of information technologies and pedagogical technologies in education.

  • International relations of the department

  The department is actively developing international relations to enter the world educational space. Currently, the department collaborates with scientists from Riga Technical University (Latvia), Yamaguchi University (Japan), University of Alberta (Canada), London Academy of Management and Sciences (UK), Nigde University (Turkey), Silesian University in Katowice (Poland) and the Mississippi Valley State University (USA). The main areas of cooperation with foreign partner universities are: advanced training of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, exchange of students and teachers on academic exchange programs, joint research and conferences.

  Every year, in order to exchange experience on the program of academic mobility, foreign scientists are invited to the department. For example, in different years, the following professors were invited to deliver lectures and conduct a master class to students and undergraduates:

  • in November-December 2022, the Association of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovak State - Professor, PhD Kultan Yaroslav lectured undergraduates and doctoral students of our department.
  • in November - December 2023, Professor, PhD, ISMA University of Applied Sciences of the Latvian State Chaiko Elena Valeryevna conducted 30 hours of lectures, 15 hours of seminars, and a 72-hour master class.
  • in November 2023, PhD Professor Yaroslav Kultan delivered a lecture on the topic "Advantages and disadvantages of using information technology in education".

  On the basis of an agreement between the London Academy of Management and Sciences in the 2013-2014 academic year, 5 students of the specialty 6В01506- "Computer science" were trained under the academic mobility program in London, and in the next academic year 4 of them received a double-diploma education at the university of the same name.

  On the basis of an agreement with the University of Silesia in Katowice, 6 students of the specialty 6B01506 – “Computer science” and 1 student of the specialty 6B01506 - “Computer science” were trained in Poland.

  On the basis of an agreement between the Mississippi Valley State University, undergraduate student of the specialty 7M01503 - "Computer science" Sabit Botakoz completed academic mobility training in the United States in the 2014-2015 academic year and at the end of the 2015-2016 academic year completed a full course under the double-degree program and became the owner of two diplomas. universities.

  In the period from September to December of the 2018-2019 academic year, 10 students of the Computer Science specialty were trained under the academic mobility program on the basis of an agreement with the Western International College in London (Western International College, England). From September to February of the 2021-2022 academic year, 5 students of the department were trained under the academic mobility program at ISMA University in Riga, Latvia. From September to February of the 2023-2024 academic year, 4 students of the department were trained under the academic mobility program at ISMA University in Riga, Latvia.

  Gulnaz Salgarayeva - Professor of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, Academician of the International Academy of Informatization, author of the textbook «I Computer science» for grades 6-11 of the secondary general education school, host of the international program «Bolashak». In 1996 she graduated from the Kazakh Women'sTeacher Training University. In 2004 she defended his Candidate's dissertation, received the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences, in 2009 she was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Management.
  She started her career in 1996 as a software engineer at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Kazakh Women's Teacher Training University. From 1998 to 2000, lecturer of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of this Institute, from 1999 to 2003, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, from 2000 to 2004, senior lecturer of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, from 2003 to 2005, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Institute, from 2005 to 2020, head of the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, from 2020 to 2021, Dean of the Higher School of Physics, Mathematics and Digital Technologies, and since September 2021, director of the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Digital Technologies.
  Gulnaz  Salgarayeva has been continuously conducting scientific research in the field of education since 1996. As a result of her work, she became the owner of the state grant «The best university teacher», was awarded the badge «Honorary Employee» of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  1982 – 1983: Lecturer at the Department of Computational Mathematics and Differential Equations of Abai Kazakh Pedagogical Institute.
  1986-1993: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean for educational work, and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty at the Abai Kazakh Pedagogical Institute.
  1993 – 2003: Head of the Department of New Information Technologies of Education at the Abai Almaty State University.
  2003 – 2008: Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics and Applied Mathematics at the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical University.
  2008 – 2019: Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical University.
  The scientific works of S.A. Issayev are widely known to scientists in the field of informatics. Some of his scientific works have been published abroad and in national scientific journals. Issayev S.A. is the author of 175 scientific works, of which 29  textbooks (including 6 approved by the Republican CMD of the Republic of Kazakhstan), 1 monograph, 130 scientific, scientific, and methodological articles.
  EDUCATION:
  • 1976 graduated from the faculty of "Mechanics and Mathematics" S.М. Kirov Kazakh State University.
  • 1983 entered the postgraduate studies of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk).
  • 1991 defended his Ph.D. thesis. Awarded the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences in the specialty 01.01.02 "Differential Equations", (Moscow city, FM No. 042171, July 17, 1991).
  • In 2001, by the decision of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the specialty "Mathematics" (DC No. 0004268, Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 19, 2001).

  01.01.11 defended his scientific dissertation for the degree of "Candidate of Physical and mathematical sciences" in the field of systems theory, system analysis, automatic control.
  In 1998, he received the academic title of "Associate Professor" of the Higher Attestation Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Computer Science, Computer Engineering and automation.
  In 2006, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty 13.00.08-theory and methodology of vocational education on the topic "pedagogical foundations of training future teachers in higher pedagogical education to use new information technologies". In the same year, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he defended the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences (Protocol No. 5 of 28.11.2006).
  Approved by the Committee for Control in the field of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2008 "05.13.00. - Received the academic title of "Professor" in the specialty "Computer Science, computer engineering and management".

  From 1995 to 1999, she received a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University.
  She began her career in 1999-2000 as a computer science teacher in grades 8-11 of the boarding school with in-depth study of the Kazakh language and literature in Almaty.
  Since 2000, she has worked as a software engineer at the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute.
  In the 2001-2002 academic year, she worked as a programmer in the admissions committee.
  In 2003-2005, she studied at the Master's degree of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University.
  Since the 2005-2006 academic year, she has been accepted as a teacher of the Department of Computer Science. He took an active part in public work at the university, faculty and department levels. In particular:
  In 2006-2007, programmer of interstate control (PGK) ,
  In 2007, the Institute took part in the elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and received a «Letter of Thanks».
  Since the 2010-2011 academic year, she has been accepted to the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics as a senior lecturer. She was also an adviser for several years, in 2011 she received the «Best Mentor» award from the university. In the 2012-2013 academic year, she was the technical secretary of the admissions committee. At the Center for Advanced Training of University Teachers, she conducted courses for undergraduates and teachers on the topic «Interactive whiteboard as an effective means of organizing the educational process». On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science, the «External assessment of educational Achievements» compiled test questions for graduates in the discipline «Database». She was awarded the badge «Kurmet belgisi» in connection with the 70th anniversary of the university.

  Zhuldyz Bazayeva – In 2008 she graduated from the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay. In 2010 she received a master's degree in pedagogy at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay.

  Zhuldyz Bazayeva is continuously engaged in research in the field of education. She has published about 30 scientific articles in various international and national academic journals.   Tazabekova Parasat Kadyrkulkyzy – Master of Pedagogical Sciences.  In 2008, she graduated from Taraz State Pedagogical Institute. In 2012, she received an academic degree "Master of Pedagogical Sciences" of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, specialty 6M011100-Computer Science.  Tazabekova Parasat Kadyrkulkyzy began her career in 2013 as a teacher at the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan, Almaty, a junior researcher at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai From 2014 to 2017, she worked as a teacher at the Taraz State Pedagogical Institute, from 2020 to 2022 as a senior lecturer at this university. Tazabekova Parasat Kadyrkulkyzy was awarded a Diploma of the first degree of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, letters of thanks from the Rector of Dulati University for her contribution to the development of the scientific potential of the university. Since September 2022, she has been working as a senior lecturer at the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Digital Technologies, the Department of Computer Science.

  Yelemanova Assell - Master of Natural Sciences, author of textbook «Fundamentals of information technology». In 2010, she graduated from the Bachelor's degree of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2012, she received an academic degree «Master of Natural Sciences» in the specialty Computer Science at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Yelemanova Assel began her career in 2010 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as a " programmer-developer ". Since September 2014, she has been working as a teacher at the Department of Computer Science, the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
