• About the department

  The Department of History of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University is one of the fundamental departments of the university, which has existed since its foundation. Currently, the program leader of the Department of History is Berik Temirkhanovich Zhubanyshov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Acting Associate Professor.

  The educational programs of the Department of History are provided with highly qualified personnel. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the full-time number of teaching staff is 23 people, including the share of teachers of the department with academic degrees and titles, including masters, is 72.5%. The department has 1 Doctor of Historical Sciences, 12 candidates of Historical Sciences, 1 candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, 3 PhD, 7 masters.

  Members of the department, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Acting Professor L.T.Kozhakeeva, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor J.B.Ashirbekova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Ph.D., associate Professor A.I.Isaeva are the winners of the competition "The best university teacher". In the VIII Republican distance learning competition "Modern lesson", Ph.D., associate professor of the department K.K.Zhylkyshybayeva took first place. By the decision of the Society of Teachers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, PhD Doctor L.A.Bisembayeva was awarded the Order of Ustaz. In addition, the teaching staff of the department has awards, certificates of honor, and letters of thanks from the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and other scientific and pedagogical organizations.

  Currently, the following teachers of the department have completed their Ph.D. and successfully defended their dissertations: L.A.Bisembayeva and G.O.Chargynova at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, K.K.Zhylkyshybayev at the Omer Khalesdemir University in the city of Niide of the Turkish Republic, A.E.Abdikhanova at Seljuk University in Konya of the Turkish Republic

  They continue their doctoral studies on targeted educational grants at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University - A.M.Konyrov, M.A.Kasymbekov, S.S. Kaldybayev, at the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University - J.K.Toyshybekov.

  Within the framework of the 500 Scientists project of the Bolashak international program, senior lecturer of the Department of History A.E.Abdikhanova completed an internship at the Omer Helisdemir University (Republic of Turkey) in Niida, in turn, PhD, Associate Professor A.D.Kozhabekova and senior lecturer, Master A.D.Umbetalieva are sent for an internship under the Management program in the field of education" in the period from March 4, 2024 to February 05, 2025 at the University of Reading (Great Britain). 

  The department has a research center "History of the Great Steppe", the purpose of which is to identify the historical trace of nations and nationalities in Kazakhstan, uncover the white spots of history, achievement of historical reality by including clarity in unresolved issues, popularization of the results obtained; student scientific circle "Zhas tarikhshy" to increase students' interest in history and involvement in research work; cabinet named after Academician K.N.Nurpeis, meeting modern requirements and providing all aspects of research work, theoretical and practical training of bachelors, undergraduates, and Ph.D. students.

  Research work of the department

  The Department of History annually holds an international scientific and practical conference within the framework of the traditional "Nurpeis readings" dedicated to the memory of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Nurpeis Kenes Nurpeisuly. Also, every year the program leader of the department, PhD, acting associate Professor B.T. Zhubanyshov organizes advanced training courses "Methods of preparation for the UNT in the history of Kazakhstan" for teachers of schools and colleges.

  The research direction of the department is "Women of the Great Steppe: place and Role in socio-political processes (from ancient times to the Present)", the purpose of which is to study the role and place of women in the history of the Great Steppe from ancient times to the present.

  The teachers of the department implement research projects of international and national importance. This year, the project "Practical and theoretical significance of the application of the integration experience of the European Union in the implementation of regional integration of the Central Asian states" ("Ortalyk Asia memleketterin aimaktyk integrations zhuzege asyruda Europalyk Odaktyn integrationalyk tazhiribesin koldanudyn praktikalyk zhane teoriyalyk manyzy"), presented by Ph.D., Associate Professor M.S. Myrzabekov, was recognized as meeting the requirements of the internal competition scientific grant funding at the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University.

  The teaching staff of the department annually publishes articles on research areas for journals included in the international database Scopus, Web of Science, and Thomson Reuters, scientific journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science, collections of international and national conferences, and publications in foreign scientific publications. According to scientific and methodological work, the teaching staff of the department publishes monographs, textbooks, manuals, and methodological guidelines on their special and specialized disciplines and has author's certificates.

  At the annual republican contests of student scientific papers and republican subject Olympiads, students of the educational programs 6B02201 – History, 6B01601 – History, and 6B01602 – History-Religious studies take prizes. 

  Mission and strategy

  • The mission of the department

  The main task of the department is the use of new technologies and active forms of education and training of educated and competitive highly qualified specialists who are well versed in the achievements of pedagogical science. The teachers of the department use new methods of checking the level of knowledge of students in the educational process, actively use the scientific results obtained in the course of their research in the educational process.

  • International cooperation

  Within the framework of student exchange and academic mobility programs, students, undergraduates, and doctoral students of the department are sent for internships at foreign universities. According to the programs of double-degree education, students of the Department of History can get an education at the Omer Halisdemir University (Republic of Turkey) and the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan.

  PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
  • In 1990 he began his career as a teacher of history and law in the secondary school №13 of Kerbulak village of Talgar district of Almaty oblast and started his career as deputy principal for educational work of the school principal.
  • In 1997, he worked as a senior lecturer of the History and Law bases at Almaty Economic College, Deputy Director for Educational and Educational Affairs.
  • 1999-2008 Kozhabekova AD worked as a senior lecturer at the Department of "Law and Management" at the Kazakh State Pedagogical Pedagogical University, Deputy Dean for Educational Work at the Faculty of Economics and Education.
  • In the 2008-2009 academic year he was the Head of the Department of Science and International Relations.
  • From 2011 to 2013 she was the Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee of the University.
  • In the 2012-2013 academic year he was the Head of the Preparatory Department.
  • Since January 2014 works as Associate Professor of the Law and Management Basis Department.
  EDUCATION:
  • In 1984-1990 he graduated from the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical University with a degree in History, Social Science and Soviet Law. In 1999-2001 he graduated from the International Law and Market Academy, majoring in "Jurisprudence".
  • In 2007 he defended his thesis on the specialty 07.00.02 - History of the Motherland (History of the Republic of Kazakhstan), "The experience of the Soviet Government on the practice of involving women in public political activities: a specific historical research" (on the example of Kazakhstan).
