Ranjit Disale, winner of the Global Teacher Prize 2020, met with students and teachers of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University. The world-famous teacher urged future teachers to value their profession and be fully committed to it. Also, the star of world pedagogy spoke about the importance of teachers adapting to the digital age:

"Try to be teachers of the 21st century. Unfortunately, we still work as teachers of the XX century, but we use even older programs - of the XIX century. There is a huge disconnect with reality and the demands of the environment. We live in a world of unprecedented challenges as well as opportunities. In an era of developing technologies like artificial intelligence, we have to adapt very quickly."

According to him, being introduced to a girls-only university was the most meaningful experience for him. After all, before fame, Ranjit Disale had campaigned in his village in India to promote girls' education.

"Disale hails from Paritewadi village in Solapur district of Maharashtra state. He initially decided to become an IT engineer and enrolled in an engineering college. But when things didn't work out, his father convinced him to join a teacher training program. Initially, Disale was reluctant to take the decision, but his time in the teacher training college helped him realize that teachers are the real change makers in the world," Rector Gulmira Kanai enlightened the students.

It is worth noting that Ranjit Disale shared half of the $1 million prize fund with his nine fellow finalists, meaning they each received $55,000. He also works with the World Bank as an advisor on educational programs and was selected by the US government to participate in the Fulbright program.
