• About the Department

  The Department of “Foreign Language Teaching Methodology and Intercultural Communication” trains bachelors in the educational program “6B01705 - Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” (1, 2, 3 years) and “6B02301 - Translation Studies” (1-4 years)

  The purpose and objectives of the department: training competent and competitive specialists with high professionalism, knowledge and skills, developed foreign language competence in the field of teaching foreign languages and translation for subsequent effective professional activities in a multilingual and multicultural environment; ensuring the intensification of scientific activities of teaching staff, expansion of international relations, development of academic mobility of teaching staff and  students. The activities of the department are organized in accordance with the stated mission, goals and objectives of the university development strategy and are aimed at their implementation.

  The department includes 3 PhD doctors and 19 Masters. The teachers of the department actively participate in international projects and academic mobility programs with foreign universities.

  • The mission of the department

  The mission of the department is to train a competent and competitive specialist with high professionalism and knowledge in the field of teaching foreign languages.

  • International cooperation

  The department closely cooperates with the British Council, the Embassies of the USA, France, Iran, China, Turkey and with International educational and language training centers such as "EduStream", "Al-Ramin", "InterPress", "Macmillan". The department jointly conducts seminars for the exchange of experience and refresher courses.

  The academic staff of the department have completed internships and advanced training courses at foreign universities, such as: University of New Jersey (USA), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), Hubei University (China), Beijing University of Technology (China), Istanbul University, Kastamonu University, Omir University Halisdemir (Turkey), University of Lucknow

  (India), Norwich Institute of Linguistics (England), Newcastle University (England) and Stratford University (USA).

  Students of our specialties have the opportunity to study abroad under the academic mobility program at universities of USA, Great Britain, Turkey, Poland, France and China. A two-degree educational program is being implemented with foreign educational institutions, including the Mississippi Valley State University (Mississippi, USA). Students who successfully complete their two-degree education program receive two diplomas: the first is a diploma from the Kazakh National Women's Teacher TrainingUniversity, the second is a diploma from the Mississippi Valley State University.

  Scientific-research work at the department

  From 2020, the Republican Subject Olympiad is being held among students of grade 11. The aim of the Olympiad is to increase the creative potential of students and their interest in learning foreign languages, as well as to guide them in choosing a future profession.

  Also in the grant competition, acting Associate Professor of the Department of Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages ​​- SadykovaRozaKarimovnawas awarded with the title "The best teacher of the university-2020".

  The project "System of concepts in the worldview of the ancient Turks" presented by the academic staff of the department was recognized as meeting the requirements of the competition for grant funding of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and by the decision of the National Scientific Council dated February 18-23, 2021 (Protocol No. 3) the implementation of the project was started in the direction of the development of science in the field of education and linguistics in the period from 2021 to 2023.

  In 1995 she graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi with a degree in "Iranian Philology". From 1993 to 1994 he continued his education at the University of Tehran in Iran, where she improved his Persian language.
  From 1995 to 2015 she worked as a teacher, head of the Persian department at the Department of Oriental Philology of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai.
  From 1996 to 2000, she studied at the Tarbiate Modares University in Iran.
  In 2008, Roza Sadykova was awarded the title of Associate Professor of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai. In 2003, on behalf of the Cultural Representation of the Embassy of Iran in Almaty, she developed a textbook of Persian language (for the 5th grade of secondary school) and translated it.
  On September 28, 2010, Professor A. She successfully defended her dissertation at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University under the supervision of Aldasheva on the topic: "Translation of species and color names (based on the Persian translation of the epic" The Way of Abai "). On February 26, 2011 she was awarded the title of Candidate of Philological Sciences.
  Roza Sadykova has been teaching at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University since 2015. Total pedagogical experience - 25 years.
  In 2018, she was awarded the title of Acting Associate Professor of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University.
  In 2021, she was awarded the title of the best teacher of the University of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  In her research, Roza Karimovna  considers effective methods of teaching Persian in higher education, modern technologies used in the educational process and important ways to train future teachers of Persian (second language), translators.
  She also participated in several international meetings of foreign teachers of Persian language and literature in Iran, spoke on current issues of Oriental philology, the most effective ways to teach modern Persian vocabulary, and shared the experience of famous foreign scholars. In addition, the scientist regularly publishes scientific articles in the field of translation and oriental studies.
  She was awarded the Diploma of "World Science" for active research and contribution to the development of modern science.
  She published many textbooks and monographs on the basis of her scientific research.
  Roza Sadykova was awarded letters of thanks from foreign diplomatic missions for their contribution to the strengthening of friendly relations between Iran and Kazakhstan, a letter of thanks from the rector of the university for her significant contribution to the development of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University

  • 1998-2004 - studied Turkish at Gazi University, Turkey, defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "Problems of the structure of words when translating Omer Seyfettin's book" Eski Kahramanlar "into Kazakh-Turkish language" and received a Ph.D. on 04.01.2004.

  Nurgul Kaliyeva is a scholar of the Mevlana International Program. In 2002 she graduated from the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages ​​named after Abylai Khan. In 2014 she received a master's degree in foreign philology from the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages ​​named after Abylai Khan.
  She began her career as a teacher of the Turkish language at the Central Asian University and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs.
