«Useful Green Cup»: «The glass that changes the world»

  ALMATY. July 1. Press center – Students of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University shared with their startup project «Useful Green Cup». This project has been recognized as the best in the nomination «The most creative idea» at the student scientific competition «Zhas Tolkyn» and received a cash reward of 1 million tenge.

  The authors of the project are Ainur Bakytzhanova, Asel Beisimbayeva and Aizhan Mamytova.

  – It would be much clearer if we literally translate this project into "Useful green glass" in the Kazakh language. The product we offer is a useful cup that emphasizes the picture of the future green world, which turns everything around into beautiful greenery. In fact, 45 million tons of garbage are exported in the country per year, of which 2 percent is recycled. And dishes made of paper, polyethylene materials, which we use daily, are processed only 3 times. The product we offer is an irreplaceable solution in solving these environmental problems, – the authors of the project say.

  According to the authors, a useful green glass is made of 3 times recycled paper. Paper in the last processing, in turn, is a cheap material. Using this, young scientists buy the first manufactured paper cup at a price that is twice cheap.

  Moreover, one thing should be taken into account here-recycled paper is not inferior to the primary processed one and does not harm human health.

  A starch-iodized tape made of various grains by special technological methods, where it is glued to the finished paper cup. Thus, when hot water is poured into a glass, tea, coffee, the grain is prepared for planting and opens.

  – Then we put the soil for planting plants and the seed tape inside the glass, after that we put the tape in a sunny place, covering its surface with soil. A distinctive feature of the «Useful Green Cup» is that the paper itself quickly passes sunlight, – the students say.

  «Useful Green Cup» produces four types of products: fresh grass that can be grown at home, flowers adapted to growing at home, lemon tree, wildflowers, trees at home.

  – After we collect the funds in the planned amount, we will make a soluble paper cup so that the plant seeds are pressed inside the glass. There is the mechanism of operation of this glass: after drinking glass with a cup of coffee, a hot drink, you throw this glass on the ground, after that this paper dissolves for 180 days, the grains inside fall to the ground, so we want to increase the number of trees that we grow in large forests. A distinctive feature of this is that the consumer throws the glasses into special garbage cans. We, in turn, take these glasses and put grain in bottles in remote regions, take care of the continuation of life and create conditions for the growth of the number of green spaces, – the authors of the project say.

  According to the head of the group Rimma Sautbaeva, who helped the startup of the girls says that, although they come up with many great ideas, they have financial challenges to implement them.

  – Such scientific project competitions held under the auspices of the Elbasy Foundation provides many opportunities to support young people who have their own ideas and projects. More than 40 students from the regions of the country came to take part in it. In particular, the students of the Women's University became the best, ahead of others, – said the head of the group Rimma Sauytbaeva.
