ALMATY. September 9. Press center – A new position of teacher-assistant has been introduced in all public schools of the country. Such specialists are in great demand in the process of teaching students with special needs, that is, inclusive education. They will help children with special needs to adjust to their new surroundings at school.

On behalf of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ashat Aimaganbetov, about 700 teaching assistants have started working in all regions of our country.

It should be noted that this work has been initiated in the process of creating an enabling learning environment for children with special needs.

Chairman of the Committee of preschool and secondary education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulmira Karimova said, «It’s not a substitute teacher. The task of teaching assistants is to perform a special role at the intersection of pedagogy and psychology – to guide children, to help them adapt to the educational process. If we are talking about children with special needs, teaching assistants will also be able to provide technical support, for example, for kids who can't physically move their body on their own. Or pedagogical support, if the child, for example, needs the help of a disability specialist. We are grateful to NGO-s that are actively involved in that kind of work».

In addition, the teacher-assistant will participate in the development of individual educational programs for children with special educational needs. The training programs will also adapt as appropriate based on the needs of students. Such teachers will not only help you to adopt a new practice you have passed, but will also observe the dynamics of the development of the skills of a special child. They will also monitor compliance with the conditions necessary for the safety and preservation of the health of children with special educational needs. They will also monitor compliance with the conditions required for the safety and health maintenance of children with special educational needs.
