    • The essay competition in honor of the 125th anniversary of K.I. Satpaev has been announced on the topic «The Role of Science and Education in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals: Challenges and Perspectives»

      On April 26, 2024, in honor of the 125th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh scientist, founder of the National Academy of Sciences, academician Kanysh Satpayev, an essay contest on the topic «The role of science and education in achieving Sustainable Development goals: challenges and prospects».

      Priority areas for writing an essay:

      • Quality education;
      • Gender equality;
      •  Combating climate change;
      • Partnership for sustainable Development.

      Undergraduates and doctoral students can take part in the competition.

      The competition is carried out: in an offline format, it is written in a computer device at a given time and evaluated by the competition commission according to the appropriate criteria.

      Venue and time: April 26 at 11:00

      The language of writing is Kazakh, Russian and English. At the end of the essay, there should be information about the author (phone number, email address, name of institution or organization, city). The «Best essay» is awarded with a certificate of 100 thousand tenge and a diploma.

      Requirements for writing an essay

      • The essay should have a clear structure, including the introduction, the main part (with arguments and examples) and the conclusion.
      • Writing an essay should be based on reasoned conclusions supported by facts and examples.
      • The text of the essay should be literate and structured, without gross errors of grammar and spelling.
      • The participant should present his own thoughts and ideas on the topic of discussion, demonstrating an original approach to the problem.
      • The recommended length of the essay is up to 1000 words.

      Evaluation criteria

      • Matching the topic. How well the author captures and analyzes the main aspects of the topic.
      • Depth of analysis. How deeply and thoroughly the participant analyzes the topic, presenting various points of view and aspects of the problem.
      •  Argumentation and examples. What arguments and examples are provided to support the illustration of the topic, and how convincing are they?
      • Structure and design. Assessment of the essay structure, its logic and consistency of argumentation, as well as the literacy of the design.
      • Originality and creativity of thinking. The author's opportunity to present new ideas and original approaches to the problem under consideration.
      • Language literacy. Assessment of grammatical and stylistic correctness, the use of scientific terminology and the quality of the essay language.
